Spectacular Sensorio in Paso Robles
Sensorio in Paso Robles is a captivating outdoor art experience featuring the iconic Field of Light, immersive light installations, and sculpture gardens. Designed by artist Bruce Munro, it blends art, nature, and technology, offering visitors unforgettable sunset views, evening illuminations, and a unique celebration of creativity in the heart of California wine country. Arriving just before sunset, we walked the short distance to our reserved tables on the terrace, and spent the first half hour sipping a cold drink while enjoying the view and the music from the live band.

From Bright Sunlight, to Glowing Sunset, to Brilliant Colors in the Darkness
Sensorio is a self-guided walking experience set across 35 acres of rolling Paso Robles hills at 4380 East Highway 46, just past Eberle Winery. One thing we really enjoyed about Sensorio was that we could explore multiple light-based installations at our own pace. Part of the time we relaxed at our table on The Terrace, while later we casually walked the pathways that offer different viewpoints throughout the evening. Exhibits begin glowing at dusk and continue all night, so your visit will feel different depending on when you arrive. Since we arrived just before sunset, we were about to witness the landscape turning from day into night.

Sensorio is 35 Acres of Colorful Magic
As the sun set, the sky turned various shades of brilliant orange. Gradually, over 100,000 lights in the Field of Light, powered by 92 solar-powered lights, slowly began to glow. We were mesmerized by the kaleidoscope of colors that brightened as the orange deepened and the sky darkened. After sunset, after the sky turned black, we went for a leisurely walk along the wide pathways, enjoying the Field of Light from various perspectives. Along the way, we immersed ourselves in some of Munro’s innovative exhibits, including Light Towers with 17,000 illuminated wine bottles, Fireflies, Gone Fishing, Woven Glow, and other special displays of light and magic. During our time at Sensorio, we saw many couples and families with children enjoying the spectacular views all around us.
