Where is Etna?
In the far north of California, Siskiyou County is an appealing destination for travelers looking for scenic beauty, outdoor adventures, along with great food and beverages. Etna, a small town of about 700 people who celebrate and preserve history, is an hour west of Mt. Shasta in Scott Valley. It’s a great place to make your home base while enjoying any of the four season’s outdoor activities.
Why You Should Go to Etna
Create unforgettable experiences with travel companions or family members when you explore the surrounding Marble Mountains, Trinity Alps, and the Pacific Crest Trail. Pan for gold, fish, mountain bike, kayak, and many other activities.
Little vehicle traffic and friendly locals make you feel right at home. Hit the Beer Trail (Etna Brewing Co. and Paystreak Brewery) or visit the only distillery in Siskiyou County (Denny Bar Co.)
Modernized historic buildings in Etna and serve the community today. The Native Daughters of the Golden West Museum, Denny Bar Co., and the Historic Collier Hotel are just a few examples of conservancy that visitors enjoy.
When I was in Etna this spring, I discovered an unusual pastry that draws people from around the region. Grain Street Bakery makes the remarkable Kouign-Amman and makes the trip worthwhile.
