Why you should see vibrant and historical New Orleans
New Orleans, Louisiana, has many nicknames. I’m sure you’ve heard of The Big Easy and NOLA, but what about The Crescent City, The City of Yes, The City That Care Forgot, Hollywood South?
No matter what it’s called, New Orleans is the most populous city in Louisiana, with an estimated population of 390,000 in 2019. It serves as a major port for the Gulf Coast region along the Mississippi River.
Famous for the Mardi Gras celebrations in February every year, New Orleans offers delectable Creole cuisine and lively jazz music that can be heard most of the day and through the nights in the Vieux Carré (French Quarter).
From alligators on the bayou to pralines that will make your teeth ache, New Orleans came back from Hurricane Katrina and is a great place to learn about our nation’s history.
